Banknifty Expiry Day Change: SEBI have released an official notification regarding the change in day of weekly options expiry. The new rule will apply from 04 September 2023.
BANKNIFTY Weekly Options Expiry New Day
As per this revision, Banknifty Weekly Expiry Options will expire on Wednesdays from 04 September 2023.
All the existing weekly options with a thursday expiry will be changed to Wednesday from 02 September 2023 on broker apps.
Note: Monthly Expiry Contracts will continue to Expire on the last thursday of Each Month, there is no change in that.
How Will this revision Impact Traders?
Options Buyer and Seller will have to adjust their strategies as per the new weekday expiry. As the new weekly contracts will start from thursdays for BankNifty, traders may have to plan their Premium Adjustment as per the new change.
